About VPJoeMAXISPhotography
First of all, let me explain the orgins of the name. My name is Joe, so its in there. I was the VP of Product Development at Maxis. This is a photography web site. Nuff said.

I've been taking photographs since I was a kid with a Brownie Hawkeye box camera. Back then everyone shot film, so the composition and settings were carefully chosen. There was no post processing. Today it is all digital, and most recently it is mirrorless. I have used almost every type since my small Brownie. Currently I have one DLSR body and a bunch of lenses and a new Nikon Z9 mirrorless, also with a bunch of lenses.
Who is this Joe guy?
Born and raised in Southern California. Attended Cal State Long Beach majoring in Math, transfered to Cal State Fullerton and changed majors to Computer Science. Had various careers. Worked in arospace and became a rocket scientist working on the Space Shuttle and Concorde. Moved up to Northern California for a while and worked on Chip testers, then I got into computer games with a stint at Spectrum Holobyte (Falcon, Tetris) and then VP at Maxis (Sim City). Then back to SoCal where I did console games for kids (Sesame Street games). Then I decided to sell everything and go on a solo sailboat cruise around the Pacific, all the while taking pictures. I had a sailing website for quite a while. When sailing became too much work, I moved to Brunswick GA, where I am now. My interest in car racing fueled my photography passion. From there, I have branched out into landscape, macro and all types of photography to include product photos for Amazon.
